Dominium, a leading affordable housing developer, owner, and manager, celebrated the grand opening of The Addie at Metro Center on October 13, an affordable housing community for adults aged 65 and older in Aurora. The construction of The Addie at Metro Center adds 222 new high-quality affordable homes for seniors to the Aurora metro and marks Dominium’s 9th affordable housing community in the state of Colorado.

All homes at The Addie at Metro Center are available to rent for seniors at 30 and 70 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI). The community is comprised of 106 one-bedroom and 106 two-bedroom apartments and features a clubroom, theater room, and card/game room, library, salon space, fitness center, storage lockers, and delivery/package service. The property also includes two pocket parks, and residents will have access to a private courtyard connecting to one of the parks.

Constructed by WD Construction, The Addie at Metro Center is supported by the federal Housing Tax Credit program (LIHTC), which is the largest source of support for the construction and maintenance of affordable housing communities. In exchange for tax credits, affordable housing developers and operators agree to maintain rents at levels tied to the Area Median Income (AMI).

“The Addie at Metro Center represents exactly what we hope to accomplish with each new community: creating high-quality, affordable homes where seniors can feel comfortable, connected and supported,” Gerard said. “We’re proud to open the doors to 222 new homes in Aurora and grateful to the many partners who helped bring this community to life.”

Dominium would like to thank its development partners, including KeyBank National Association, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Blackstone, the City of Aurora, Arapahoe County, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Zions Bancorporation, and Colliers Securities for their continued commitment to providing high-quality affordable housing and their ongoing partnership with Dominium.
