While we are seeing the boom in Denver development, Broomfield is drawing in international investment leading to new residential construction. Viega, a pipe manufacturer with global headquarters in Germany, is among the new businesses and acquired 12 acres to develop 80,000 square feet, including a 20,000 square foot training center. Partners Group, another international company, will also establish its headquarters at Interlocken, a three building, 80,000-square-foot development.
As of the end of 2016, more than $866 million in commercial and residential projects were either planned or under construction, said Bo Martinez, director of economic development for Broomfield. That follows some recent economic-development “gets” that will bring new jobs to the city of nearly 60,000, as well as about 6,500 planned apartment units.
