AIA Colorado recently announced its 2024 Design + Honor Awards recipients, recognizing Colorado architecture firms, projects, and architects for outstanding design and exemplary service. The recipients were unveiled during an event at Mile High Station. The event was attended by over 250 and featured music performances by Mile High Soul Club.
“In an era where the architectural profession is tasked with addressing unprecedented environmental and social challenges, Colorado architects are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Mike Waldinger, honorary AIA and CEO of AIA Colorado. “This year, the depth and diversity of the work submitted for recognition were truly remarkable, with an inspiring array of projects showcasing new heights in sustainable design, creativity, and community focus.”
Through a jury of respected designers from around the country, submissions were reviewed without identifying the design team and selected based on creatively addressing client needs beautifully, sustainably, and equitably. Jurors can see the boundaries of possibility expand when architects combine new technology, materials, and design thinking.
In addition to the design awards, local architects and firms were recognized with Honor Awards for their breadth of work, leadership in the profession, and community contributions.
“Our members continually demonstrate resilience and dedication, elevating the standards of our profession while making meaningful impacts in their communities,” added Waldinger. “The 2024 recipients embody this spirit through their leadership, advocacy, and tireless commitment to creating spaces that improve lives.”
