STUDIO Architecture was recently presented with a 2020 Eagle Award by Housing Colorado for its affordable housing project for Attention Homes, located at the corner of 15th and Pine Street in Boulder. The project features 40 apartments for homeless youth between the ages of 18-24, a below grade parking structure, support spaces and Attention Homes’ offices. The award was given during a virtual ceremony held on July 30.
The Eagle Award recognizes outstanding leadership in housing and support services and is selected based on innovation, resident-focused design, incorporation of interests of a variety of stakeholders, and for overcoming unique challenges to complete the project.
“We’re extremely proud to be recognized by Housing Colorado,” said Jeff Dawson, STUDIO’s managing principal. “There were challenges, to be sure, but the final product became a shining example of community and developer collaboration. The entire project team worked tirelessly to find solutions that worked for everybody.”
After extensive neighborhood engagement and coordination with the city’s design review staff, the project broke ground on February 2018 and was completed in late 2019.
