DENVER – Schuck Communities & CH Thompson Company have sold 39.81 acres of industrial land within Nexus at DIA, a master-planned business park, located at 84th Avenue and Quintero Street in Commerce City. Becknell Industrial, specialists in the development, investment and management of industrial properties across the U.S., purchased the land for an undisclosed amount.
“We are proud that Becknell, the highly successful and highly respected developer of quality industrial buildings, has selected Nexus at DIA for this project. Commerce City elected officials and staff have really done an excellent job in helping us attract this quality development and the new jobs it will create,” said Steve Schuck, Brock Chapman, and Chris Thompson.
Construction of the 540,800-square-foot build-to-suit for GE/Haier Appliance is nearing completion on the 38.8-acre site Becknell Industrial previously acquired in April of 2018. Becknell Industrial will be announcing its plans for a new building on the newly acquired site shortly.
“Commerce City is excited to continue to welcome new developments to the Nexus at DIA site,” said Commerce City Mayor Sean Ford. “The recent completion of the Tower Road widening project provides an important connection for local businesses and makes the region even more attractive for future economic opportunities.”
Drew McManus, managing director along with Bryan Fry, and Mike Viehmann, of Cushman & Wakefield Denver represented the seller, in the transaction and James Bolt of CBRE represented the buyer.
“Becknell’s second acquisition within Nexus at DIA further confirms the park’s presence as a premier industrial park in the Northeast corridor and represents the continued demand from developers and large corporate users to Nexus’ ideal location,” said McManus.
Nexus at DIA is strategically positioned to meet the current demand for industrial real estate throughout Metro Denver. It is located on the burgeoning east side of the metro area with a uniquely close proximity to DIA and to significant sort hubs for both UPS and FedEx as well to tenants’ employees.
