Canvas Credit Union Opens New Branch in Writer Square

Canvas Credit Union has a new, innovative branch in downtown Denver’s Writer Square, located at 16th and Larimer. The new branch transformation includes the removal of traditional teller walls, and the development of a “shoulder-to-shoulder” service model that takes typical transactions to some comfy chairs or standing pods, making the member experience feel more like you’re working with family in the comfort of your home.

“We have been excited about moving our Writer Square branch to a larger, more easily accessible space for a very long time,” said Chris Chippindale, Canvas Credit Union’s chief operations officer. “This updated, innovative branch structure is exactly what credit union members in Denver need!”

In celebration of the new branch location, over the next two weeks, Canvas is giving away prizes and gifts to anyone who visits the new location. The week of January 21, along with other giveaways, visitors will be given two pairs of winter gloves for them and to gift to a friend. The week of January 27, Canvas will be giving away a grand prize of $250, as well as other large prizes, such as Bluetooth speakers.

“We have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time, and I am thrilled to bring our revolutionary branch design to the heart of Colorado’s capital,” said Todd Marksberry, Canvas Credit Union’s president and CEO.

The new branch design is a part of a larger transformation for the credit union. Following a rebrand in 2018 from Public Service Credit Union to Canvas Credit Union, the local financial institution is revolutionizing their branch experience to better serve members. These transformations started with replacing teller walls and barriers to encourage more one-on-one interactions, as well as bringing in couches, chairs, fresh coffee, café-style work stations, and other amenities that a member would find in their own living rooms. The goal is to make the branch environment feel like home.

The Writer Square branch renovation follows shortly after the grand opening of two new branch locations in Castle Rock, which also bring the new Canvas experience to life. The redesigned locations show what a financial institution can accomplish when they truly listen to the voice of their members.

The new branch location also brings updated hours of operation, with the Writer Square branch now open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to better serve the financial needs of Canvas members in Denver.
