Colorado Springs, COEtkin Johnson Real Estate Partners has finalized the conceptual plan for its recent purchase of The Gateway at Interquest, a 77-acre tract of land in northern Colorado Springs.

Development plans for The Gateway at InterQuest include three distinct multi-family housing projects, as well as retail, office and hospitality. The site’s strategic location, just east of the U.S. Air Force Academy, offers superior highway visibility in addition to unobstructed views of nearby Pikes Peak.

“Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners has established a reputation in Colorado for successfully developing mixed-use environments that attract residents and businesses alike,” said Derek Conn, director of finance at Etkin Johnson. “We are confident that the prime location, thoughtful design and amenities we’re planning for The Gateway at InterQuest will drive similar momentum in the Colorado Springs market.”

The site is located at the epicenter of InterQuest, adjacent to office buildings, hotels, key entertainment and retail at InterQuest Marketplace. The Marketplace provides north‐side consumers with an updated alternative to the Chapel Hills/North Academy shopping district. Great Wolf Resorts is also transforming the retail center’s unfinished Renaissance Hotel into a family‐style resort, scheduled to open in December 2016 with a water park, restaurants, children’s entertainment and meeting space.

“Over the past several years, Colorado Springs has enjoyed significant growth across the board – from population, jobs and retail to housing starts and commercial construction,” added Conn. “We look forward to working with The Gateway at InterQuest project team to ensure this development will help meet the needs of our expanding city.”

The initial phase of development will include construction of nearly 300 apartments on the southeast corner of the property, beginning the first quarter of 2017. Subsequent phases will include construction of additional apartments and development of commercial spaces. Each phase will include amenities such as parks, open walkways, activity areas, and clubhouses.

The Gateway at Interquest development team includes Convergence Multifamily Real Estate Group, Vogel & Associates, Oz Architecture and engineering firm Classic Consulting.
