Groundbreaking: Legacy Ballroom, Westin Westminster

WESTMINSTER – The Westin Westminster recently broke ground on the new Legacy Ballroom that will add an additional 10,000 square feet of flexible event space when it opens in Spring 2019.

The new ballroom will feature 18 foot high ceilings and can be used for events for up to 1,000 people, adding to the hotel’s existing meeting space that can be divided into thirty separate meeting rooms with extensive pre-function areas. The new Legacy Ballroom will also offer an outdoor terrace and pre-function space as well as access to The Westin Westminster’s 20,000-square-foot Waterfall Gardens, this outdoor venue is popular for wedding ceremonies, team building activities, and receptions.

The Westin Westminster is owned by an affiliate of Wheelock Street Capital, a private real estate investment firm and managed by HEI Hotels and Resorts. The project was designed by Colorado’s OZ Architecture and is being built by Hyder Construction.

“This new space gives us the opportunity to entertain larger groups, including major corporate, association, and non-profit events,” said Paul Pelican, The Westin Westminster’s director of sales & marketing. “It is going to be fantastic to have a brand new ballroom that can be configured to host a wide variety of events, from general sessions, and gala dinners to trade show exhibit space.”

Earlier this year the hotel completed a major $8.5 million renovation. The renovation work improved all of the Westin Westminster’s 370 guest rooms and public spaces. The guestrooms feature wall-to-wall windows with soaring views of the Rocky Mountains and the Front Range or Westminster Nature Park and Legacy Ridge Golf Course.
