WellPower, Alliance Construction Solutions and Davis Partnership Architects recently broke ground on Sheridan on 10th, a pioneering housing project at 5097 W 10th Avenue in Denver. This ceremony marks the commencement of construction on a 60-unit multifamily residential building dedicated to providing safe and supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals.

Permanent supportive housing is nationally recognized as a proven solution to end homelessness, allowing residents to live independently while getting the treatment they need to get better and transform their lives.

Sheridan on 10th is designed with the well-being of its future residents in mind, incorporating trauma-informed care principles into every aspect of its architecture and community spaces. The three-story building will offer 50,266 square feet of affordable and supportive recovery housing. Key features include wide hallways, ample natural light, and communal spaces that foster a sense of community and facilitate healing.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of this groundbreaking,” remarked Denver City Council President Jamie Torres. “This initiative marks a significant step towards addressing homelessness and fostering stability within our district. This permanent supportive housing is not just about providing shelter; it’s about offering hope, dignity and opportunity to our community members in need. By investing in long-term solutions, we are not only providing shelter but also laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient community. I am immensely proud of the collaborative effort that has made this project possible, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on countless lives for generations to come.”

The project underscores WellPower’s commitment to the housing-first model, focusing on providing stability and support to help residents on their path to recovery and well-being. Through this initiative, Alliance Construction Solutions is proud to partner with them and Davis Partnership Architects, aiming to make a significant impact in the community by addressing the critical need for supportive housing solutions.

The groundbreaking ceremony was a significant milestone for the community and social development within Denver, setting the precedent for future projects aimed at tackling homelessness with compassion and innovative solutions. Carl Clark, president and CEO of WellPower, emphasized that learning how to trust was a crucial element in the development of this project. He highlighted the importance of creating spaces within the building that encourage interaction and trust-building among residents. By doing so, WellPower aims to help individuals connect and make the most of the supportive housing resources available to them.

WellPower’s Sheridan on 10th project is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
