Guard and Grace, Denver’s renowned modern steakhouse by Chef Troy Guard, has renewed its lease at Brookfield Properties’ 1801 California Street for another five years. This renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the revitalization and growth of downtown Denver.

“Downtown Denver has always been close to my heart, and we’re thrilled to renew our lease, reaffirming our commitment to the Mile High City,” said Chef Troy Guard. “This renewal is not just about continuing to serve amazing food and great company at Guard and Grace but a testament to our belief in Denver’s future and the efforts to revitalize downtown. We hope city officials will share this vision and support the restaurants and businesses working to bring vibrancy back to the heart of our city, just as we’ve done through the help of our ongoing partnership with Brookfield Properties and our dedication to Denver’s growth.”

Since its inception, Guard and Grace has made several exciting enhancements to the property, including an expansion into the lobby creating an exceptional lounge and a stunning renovation of the restaurant’s patio area. These improvements have enhanced the dining experience and made a positive impact on the vibrant building and surrounding downtown area.

TAG Restaurant Group has been one of our most committed partners over the years, and it’s been an honor to work together and support the revitalization of downtown Denver,” said Paul Mitchell, senior vice president of asset management for Brookfield Properties. “With the recent opening of Done Deal and now a renewed commitment with Guard and Grace, my team and I are excited for the next five years.”

“TAG Restaurant Group has played an integral role in shaping the culinary scene here in downtown Denver, and we’re proud to continue this partnership,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president of the Northwest region for Brookfield Properties. “Guard and Grace is an important cornerstone of the downtown area and this renewal ensures it will remain a key part of the Denver community for many years to come.”

Guard and Grace will also continue to offer an incredible space for large events and parties. This year, the restaurant hosted Fund Recovery’s third annual “Dinner With the Champions” fundraising event, featuring Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve Atwater, Terrell Davis, and Broncos Legend Mark Schlereth. The restaurant also celebrated its 10th anniversary by welcoming over 15 local chefs and bartenders for a vibrant event of socializing, food, and community. Each of these events encompassed the 9,000-square-foot restaurant and patio area, complete with red carpets, photo opportunities, and luxury amenities.

“Guard and Grace has always been a cornerstone for community events, and it’s something I genuinely look forward to every time. Hosting these events and seeing the joy they bring to our guests and community is incredibly rewarding. We can’t wait to continue this tradition, welcoming even more wonderful events and opportunities to celebrate together in the future,” added Chef Troy Guard.

This lease renewal marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Guard and Grace, one focused on growth and continued collaboration. Looking ahead, the restaurant remains deeply committed to investing in the future of Denver, contributing to the city’s vibrant culinary scene and supporting its ongoing development.
