Haselden Construction along with Larimer County and Page Architects celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the new Larimer County Behavioral Health Services at the Longview Campus on Friday, September 22. Although the building will not be open to patients until December 2, this event commemorated the completion of this much-needed facility dedicated to serving the more than 363,000 residents of Larimer County. As the first stand-alone center committed to behavioral health and wellness, it will significantly increase the capacity to care for individuals in crisis.
“It is a big day, and we are here to mark the completion of this acute care building, the first building on the Larimer County Behavioral Health Services Longview Campus. Set to open this winter, it represents a beacon of hope and support for individuals facing behavioral health crises,” shared Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally. “The name Longview, carefully chosen by the team and the Board of County Commissioners, was inspired by our beautiful local landscape and nearby Longview open space and trails. But it also embodies something more profound, commitment to the long view when it comes to mental health. It is an acknowledgment that addressing behavioral health issues requires an approach that emphasizes long-term solutions and a vision for the future.”
At 59,151 square feet, the new campus adds 56 beds and will initially provide care coordination, behavioral health urgent care, substance use treatment with medication, withdrawal management, a crisis stabilization unit, and an onsite pharmacy lab. Once all services are fully open to patients, the Longview Campus will treat any patient regardless of ability to pay.
“It’s not often you get to work on a project with this kind of community impact, especially one that will be so immediate once the building is open,” said Kevin Hoff, senior project manager for Haselden Construction. “We are honored to be a part of this team working with the County to bring this building to life.”
Haselden Construction has been working with Larimer County over the past several years throughout the planning stages and construction process of the new Behavioral Health Services at the Longview Campus. This marks the beginning of several behavioral health initiatives across Colorado, with this specific facility being funded by the taxpayers of Larimer County. Haselden Construction has also completed a behavioral health wing at the UCHealth Anschutz Campus and is currently in construction on the Vail Precourt Healing Center, another standalone behavioral health facility serving Vail Valley.
