Monfort Companies and Summit CVG Acquire Lodo’s Bar and Grill

DENVER – MCSV Holdings I, LLC, a joint venture between Kenneth Monfort of Monfort Companies and Jason Marcotte and Matt Runyon of Summit Capital Venture Group dedicated to the intentional revitalization of downtown Denver, has acquired the Lodo’s Bar and Grill portfolio, including all business operations and real estate. The 4.4-acre portfolio consists of three restaurant locations: 1946 Market St. (Downtown Denver), 8545 S. Quebec Street (Highlands Ranch) and 3053 W. 104th Ave. (Westminster).

“When I started Lodo’s almost 25 years ago, my dream was to create a home-away-from-home atmosphere for guests and to celebrate the Colorado outdoor lifestyle that everyone knows and loves,” said Chris Myers, Lodo’s Founder and Owner. “I’m proud of the role Lodo’s played in making this neighborhood the huge draw it is today, and I’m excited to have found an ownership group who understands how to build on this legacy and evolve it to serve a new generation of patrons.”

Home to Denver’s first rooftop bar, the original Lodo’s location opened in 1994, less than a year before the first game was played at Coors Field around the corner. Myers expanded the portfolio in 1998 with the purchase of the adjacent historic Mattie Silks building, which serves as Lodo’s private event space. He later took the restaurant concept to Highlands Ranch in 2004 and Westminster in 2007.

“Historic locations like the original Lodo’s capture the authentic spirit of Denver,” said Kenneth Monfort, Director of Development for Monfort Companies. “Our larger vision for a unified Denver Stadium District requires iconic locations such as this to be preserved and enhanced so they can continue to draw people to this vital neighborhood for generations to come.”

Founded in 2011, Monfort Companies has worked to create local gathering places in underserved rural markets, spurring economic growth by creating jobs and sales tax revenue. In 2017, the company expanded its portfolio to include prime commercial real estate in Denver’s LoDo neighborhood near Coors Field.

“Both Monfort Companies and Summit Capital Venture Group share a passion for Denver – for protecting what makes it such a special place to live, work and play, and for boldly reimagining what it could be in the future,” said Matt Runyon, partner with Summit Capital Venture Group. “We look forward to working side by side with our neighbors in the LoDo area to create a more connected, vibrant city together.”

Jason Marcotte founded Summit CVG in 2011 with a commitment to investing in projects that set a new standard for placemaking. Summit CVG’s relationship-centered business model puts people at the forefront of its investment strategy, building partnerships that provide the best value for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
