Denver, CO – The Colorado edition of The Who’s Who in Building & Construction features “Mortenson Construction to Build History-Making Resort,” the story of Mortenson Construction and their joint venture partner, WELBRO. The company has taken on a high-profile Colorado construction project, the largest combined resort-convention center in the state: building the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center.
This 1.9 million square foot development will include a 1,500-room hotel, as well as retail, commercial, and convention space, an indoor/outdoor recreational park, and convention facility, on over 85 acres of land. This is not the company’s first major project. Since its founding in 1954 by M.A. Mortenson Sr., the company has been involved in a multitude of projects for both private and public sectors.
The company is also among the top in solar, renewable, and wind power. When asked to talk about the Mortenson company’s recipe for success, company vice president and Denver General Manager Maja Rosenquist attributes it to the team: “It’s the boots on the ground, the many project managers, superintendents, field workers and others who perform the day-to-day work and coordinate increasingly complex projects with care and commitment that make our company successful.”
Colorado’s Who’s Who In Building & Construction Showcase takes place on May 10th at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
