Trailbreak Partners Expands Leadership Team with Head of Acquisitions

Trailbreak Partners, a Denver-based commercial real estate investment and development firm, announced the addition of Brett Silverstein as senior vice president of acquisitions. In this new role, Silverstein will be responsible for leading the firm’s acquisitions platform, overseeing the strategic identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities, and aligning acquisition strategies with the firm’s overall portfolio objectives.
“As we continue to expand our investment holdings, we’re focused on deploying capital to intentionally grow our portfolio of cash-flowing investments while maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional returns for our valued investors,” said Doug Elenowitz, co-founder and principal at Trailbreak Partners. “Brett’s expertise will enhance our ability to identify high-quality opportunities that align with our investment approach, benefiting both our longtime partners and new institutional relationships we’re developing.”
Silverstein has an extensive background in real estate investment, acquisitions, and asset management, with a focus on multifamily and hospitality assets. Before joining Trailbreak Partners, Silverstein served as partner and chief acquisitions officer at Brinkman Real Estate, where he led the firm’s expansion into more than 20 new markets across the Mountain West and oversaw performance and strategy for dozens of assets. Previously, Silverstein oversaw the Denver office of Cortland Partners, where he was responsible for strategic daily management of Mountain West Region assets. His career is marked by deep market insight with a proven record of delivering high-performing deals.
“Despite a challenging market environment marked by suppressed fundamentals, the multifamily sector presents one of the best investment opportunities since the aftermath of the GFC. Record-high renter demand coupled with strong economic growth, declining housing starts, reset valuations, and limited buyer competition make this an incredibly attractive opportunity for those with deployable capital,” said Silverstein. “I’m excited to be joining the Trailbreak team to help the organization invest in the growth of its Acquisitions platform. I look forward to leveraging the opportunities in the market to drive exceptional value for our investors.”
Silverstein received his Master’s degree in Management in Hospitality Real Estate from Cornell University and his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Management from the University of Vermont.
