Saunders Construction Announces Executive Leadership Promotions
Saunders Construction announced this week the promotion of three outstanding team members to the executive leadership team. Derek Breier is promoted to vice president and general manager of Saunders North, Brad Marsh to chief administration officer, and Teena Bergstrand to vice president of market strategies and communications. Saunders is confident in these individuals’ expertise and servant leadership as the organization continues to shape its future.
Derek Breier is promoted to vice president and general manager of Saunders North, after serving as construction manager, and most recently area manager, in northern Colorado. Breier has been instrumental in supporting our teams and the continued growth of the Saunders North business unit. He has built a reputation for his commitment to supporting project teams and cultivating trusting client relationships throughout Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Breier’s dedication to an exceptional client experience and community involvement will ensure Saunders North’s continued success and leadership in the industry.
Brad Marsh is promoted to chief administration officer after leading the safety and learning and development teams, and elevating the human resources team to its current focus on people services. After joining Saunders in 2014 as vice president of human resources, Marsh significantly contributed to various areas of the business, including mental health advocacy, leadership development, benefits program enhancements, and expanded learning opportunities. In his new role, Marsh will oversee day-to-day administrative activities of people services, learning and development, safety, and information technology. He will also develop comprehensive career development plans and strategies for future succession planning with senior leadership roles.
Teena Bergstrand joins the executive team as vice president of market strategies and communications. She will continue to oversee marketing and communications, with an enhanced focus on identifying market growth opportunities and competitive advantage strategies, and developing client experience enhancements. After joining Saunders in May 2010 as a marketing coordinator, Bergstrand worked her way up in the organization, providing corporate oversight for marketing, communications and business development. She also champions diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Howell Construction Promotes David Gazarik to Project Manager, Brett Liekhus to Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager, and Gabrielle Meek to Senior Marketing Coordinator
Howell Construction announced the promotions of David Gazarik to project manager, Brett Liekhus to project manager/assistant project manager, and Gabrielle Meek to senior marketing coordinator. These advancements emphasize their commitment and determination to succeed.
David earned his Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from Virginia Tech. During his six years at Howell, he has demonstrated his commitment by completing significant projects, including Western Union Headquarters and the CU Anschutz Central Utility Plant Expansion. David consistently builds strong partnerships with key clients and is committed to delivering exceptional service. As Project Manager, David will ensure project success by overseeing all phases from execution to completion.
Brett graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Brett takes pride in discovering solutions to complex issues and unforeseen project challenges. His pursuit of perfection makes him a valuable asset to his teams. As Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager, he will support project teams in resource management, cost control, and team leadership.
Gabrielle Meek graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Strategic Communication. In her role as Senior Marketing Coordinator, Gabrielle will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies and drive brand awareness. This promotion reflects Gabrielle’s best-in-class proposal responses, dedication, expertise, and exceptional contributions to the Howell marketing team.
