Rowland+Broughton Architecture/Urban Design/Interior Design Principal Sarah Broughton to Serve as President-Elect on the AIA Colorado 2022 Board of Directors
Rowland+Broughton Architecture/Urban Design/Interior Design announced that firm Principal Sarah Broughton, AIA, NCIDQ, has been chosen to serve as president-elect on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado 2022 Board of Directors. Along with the entirety of the 11-member board, the position was confirmed on December 8 during the AIA Colorado Annual Member Meeting.
The AIA Colorado Board of Directors oversees the affairs of the nonprofit and is responsible for setting the direction of the organization through governance, policy-making, and strategic planning.
“Following two years serving as AIA Colorado West Director, I am incredibly honored and grateful to be named president-elect of the AIA Colorado 2022 Board of Directors,” Broughton notes about her new role. “Looking forward, I am motivated to continue to elevate the power of design and promote a vibrant practice culture. Cuningham Announces Promotion in Denver
Cuningham, a global architecture and design firm, has recently announced new promotions, including one in Denver. The firm, which has offices in Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and San Diego, provides award-winning architecture, interior design, and architecture services for a diverse array of markets.
Jackie Squires, AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP, has been elevated to the associate principal leadership position. As a project manager for Cuningham’s Grow Studio, Jackie excels at communicating complicated, difficult messaging with both clarity and care. Jackie leads with respect and patience and is dedicated to making sure all team members are given room to grow — personally and professionally. Jackie has been a Cuningham team member for nine years.

DCPS Welcomes Lauren Fry as Sales Manager
Denver Commercial Property Services (“DCPS”) the leading provider of integrated commercial property services across Colorado, appoints Lauren Fry as business development team lead.
With more than 15 years of experience in sales and finance, Lauren brings to DCPS a vast amount of unique experience in advancing a company’s sales and business development goals while also helping to manage the bottom line.
Prior to joining the DCPS team, Lauren drove the business development efforts for the Denver branch of Flynn Group of Companies. Taking Flynn from an unknown entity to a well-known contractor, Lauren has become a mainstay in Denver’s commercial real estate community. To support the growth of DCPS, she will continue to be an active member in the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and Commercial Real Estate for Women (CREW).

Howell Construction Hires Ben Cherwinski, Erik Griffith, and Gabrielle Meek
Howell Construction announced the recent addition of three key members to the Howell team.
Ben Cherwinski joins Howell in the estimating department, bringing two years of experience as an estimator for mid-size construction companies in Denver and Arizona. Ben graduated from Michigan State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. For nine years after graduating, Ben worked in the engineering design field. Ben’s varied background adds additional depth of mechanical systems knowledge.
Erik Griffith joins the team as a project manager with 19 years of experience working on construction projects in the education, commercial, worship and public sectors across the western United States. Erik’s depth of experience and his demonstrated leadership skills are a perfect fit for Howell.
Gabrielle Meek joins Howell as marketing coordinator with an undergraduate degree in Integrated Strategic Communication and two internships at the U.S. Capitol. Gabrielle’s skill set brings additional event planning and communications acumen to the marketing team.
