Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced MTech Mechanical as a 2015 National Excellence in Construction Pyramid award winner at the 26th Annual Excellence in Construction Gala on March 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The award was given for their work on the International Broadcasting Center at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Beaver Creek, Colo.
ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards program recognizes outstanding construction projects across the country based on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
The project earned recognition for its expert team knowledge, innovative ideas, and the commitment to ensure the project was completed in time for the beginning of the ski races. Part of the project’s distinctiveness was that none of the event attendees, who came in record numbers, would notice a plain-looking, temporary building sitting on the side of the mountain. However, without that building, the event could not have been seen by any of the 800 million people watching from home around the world.
“This award is an honor, especially for our mountain group that executed the project in extreme climatic conditions to meet the expectations of our client. From start to finish, our team demonstrated a commitment to innovation, safety and quality, which is clearly evident in the completed product.” MTech President, Marco Capitelli said.
