DENVER – Construction manager Pinkard Construction was honored on Tuesday as MOA ARCHITECTURE’s Dimensions Award Contractor of the Year winner for 2018. The ceremony, held at MOA’s 14th Street office in Denver, was attended by members of MOA’s and Pinkard’s project teams who have collaborated on two recent design-build projects for STRIDE Community Health Center [formerly known as Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN)].
“We want to recognize Pinkard as a strong collaborative partner in our work for STRIDE,” says Katie Vander Putten, principal at MOA. “We’re very excited to continue our positive working relationship with their team.”
STRIDE’s community health center renovation project in North Aurora, which completed in July 2018, featured an intensive design-build collaboration among members of STRIDE, MOA, Pinkard, and several key subconsultants and subcontractors. The Pinkard/MOA team ultimately delivered the project under budget and 45 days ahead of schedule.
As a result of this success, the Pinkard/MOA design-build team was selected in February 2019 to provide design-build services for STRIDE’s administrative consolidation project, which will bring together 125 STRIDE employees from four different STRIDE locations into a single office. That project has a projected mid-May construction start. Pinkard Construction Manager Derek Stathis: “Our project team did a phenomenal job working with our trade partners to make sure that all potential issues were considered and accounted for in our estimate and schedule, which ultimately gave us an extremely efficient and productive construction approach that netted huge savings in time and money for our great client. MOA and STRIDE were amazing to work with. We couldn’t be more thrilled that this project and partnership was such a success!”
Over the years, Pinkard and MOA have collaborated on 13 other projects, ranging from elementary schools to office buildings to recreation and hospitality. The MOA Dimensions Awards are given each year in celebration and recognition of those clients, consultants, and contractors who share MOA’s commitment to live and work with the highest character, respect, and integrity; who perform their responsibilities to the highest possible level, and who recognize the important responsibility we have in the community as building owners, design and construction professionals beyond the immediacy and needs of any single project. MOA will make a donation in Pinkard’s name to STRIDE Community Health Center.
