Stonebridge Companies Wins Marriott ‘Spirit to Serve’ Award

Denver, CO – Colorado-based Stonebridge Companies has been awarded the esteemed Marriott “Spirit to Serve” award as a result of the companies’ robust philanthropic endeavors throughout the past 25 years.

Celebrating dedicated community involvement, the Marriott “Spirit to Serve” award is bestowed on team members and companies that distinguish themselves through their heightened sense of global awareness and willingness to give back to the community and world around them. Categories considered for the award include “Shelter and Food,” “Environment,” “Readiness for Hotel Careers,” “Vitality for Children,” and “Embracing Global Diversity and Inclusion.”

Stonebridge’s community involvement is vigorous throughout every location of the company. In Colorado, the Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center serves the “Shelter and Food” category for those in need as a contributor to nonprofit Denver-based Cooking Matters. Events included the “Chef’s Up Front,” which was hosted by the Stonebridge hotel to aid in this vital cause. In Anchorage, Alaska, the LEED-certified Towneplace Suites Anchorage Midtown functions as an exceptional example of a hotel that is environmentally conscious by being the first property in the state of Alaska to be honored as such through their eco-friendly practices.

Following in light of the recent announcement of the 2016 Colorado recipients for the Metropolitan State University Rita and Navin Dimond Fellowship Program, Stonebridge Companies’ “Readiness for Hotel Careers” involves established fellowship programs to fund students annually in order to set them up with on-site leadership to foster excellence and passion in future hospitality industry leaders. In the fall of 2015, Stonebridge Companies was pleased to also fund the first endowment for the Hospitality & Tourism Management School at West Virginia University as well as delivering on an extensive internship program at the future Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.

In providing for the “Vitality of Children,” Stonebridge Companies has participated with various organizations to advance the needs of children including walk-a-thons for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as participation from Renaissance New York Midtown team members volunteering at the Bowery Mission Soup Kitchen. Lastly, in “Embracing Global Diversity and Inclusion,” Stonebridge is committed to celebrating employees and guests with diverse backgrounds and communities through the four pillars of the companies mission statement, which explicitly states to recognize and support all communities.
