The Official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Arapahoe Community College Health Innovation Center is Celebrated by Haselden Construction.

Arapahoe Community College marked the opening of its new Health Innovations Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 7th. Built by Haselden Construction in partnership with Anderson Mason Dale, the project transformed the outdated 1970s annex into modern healthcare education spaces, along with new student lounges and an elevator. Even with increased capacity, the college’s programs remain fully enrolled, underscoring the significant demand for skilled healthcare professionals and training in Colorado.

“We would like to thank the team from Anderson Mason Dale, as well as Cator, Ruma & Associates, NV5 and Haselden Construction for building this beautiful facility,” said ACC President Stephanie J. Fujii, Ph.D. “ACC’s Health Innovation Center is expanding critical programming to address growing healthcare industry workforce needs. Our simulated and active-learning experiences are paving the way to increase the pool of well-trained professionals for high-growth, high-demand healthcare jobs in south metro Denver and beyond. At ACC, we are proud to provide the best educational and work-based training opportunities for the healthcare professionals who serve our communities.”

This renovation and addition significantly improves Arapahoe Community College’s healthcare education capacity, expanding nursing classrooms from 9 beds to 23. Students now have access to more hands-on learning as well as state-of-the-art technology including a crisis simulator that can project different scenes and sounds on three walls. This allows students to immerse themselves in different environments they might encounter as they deliver care, ultimately helping them develop their skills in real world scenarios.

“We have been thrilled to partner with Arapahoe Community College on this project expanding the learning space for healthcare careers.” Remarked David Marsh, Director of On-Call for Haselden Construction, “The team worked hard throughout the project, and it is exciting to see the spaces and classrooms in action and helping students better prepare to enter the healthcare workforce.”

Haselden Construction has a long history building in the higher education market, completing projects with Colorado State University, University of Colorado Boulder, and Front Range Community College. This marks an ongoing partnership with Arapahoe Community College as Haselden continues to complete upgrades to the campus. Haselden Construction has also completed other recent medical and educational projects including an MRI suite at the CU Medical Campus in Highlands Ranch and a Dental Hygiene Suite at Front Range Community College – another renovation that adds more learning spaces and hands-on laboratory space.
