Denver’s iconic Oxford Hotel is thrilled to have been named the Favorite Hotel in Denver by Travel + Leisure in the 2023 World’s Best Awards. Denver’s The Crawford Hotel ranked No.3 and The Maven was ranked No.4.

Travel + Leisure touts The Oxford as a “perfect home base” and a “beacon for travelers looking for a simple but chic stay near Union Station.”

The Oxford was also ranked No.4 on Travel + Leisure’s list of the “15 Favorite Continental U.S. Hotels” and No.67 on the list of 100 Favorite Hotels in the World.

The Oxford anchors Denver’s popular LoDo District with 80 luxurious guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of elegant event space. Guests can dine at the award-winning Urban Farmer Denver, a modern farm-to-table steakhouse that mixes local and responsibly sourced ingredients with a down-to-earth soul, and enjoy cocktails at The Cruise Room, Denver’s quintessential martini bar that originally opened on the day Prohibition ended in 1933. The Oxford is also home to The Oxford Club & Spa, which offers a comprehensive spa and fitness experience.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Oxford offers an extensive schedule of nightly lobby activations, including a complimentary Bourbon Hour, where guests can enjoy the 130th Anniversary Label bourbon created for the hotel by Denver’s Laws Whiskey House, along with local live music, art pop-ups, complimentary shoe shines and shopping events.

Designed by Frank E. Edbrooke, a leading Colorado architect at the time, The Oxford was called “a city within a city” when it first opened in 1891 because it was home to a barbershop, a library, a pharmacy, a Western Union Office, stables and a splendid saloon.

“We like to say that you can’t build history,” said Ed Blair, the area general manager overseeing The Oxford Hotel and The Oxford Club & Spa. “The Oxford offers the perfect combination of timeless elegance and modern luxury. Our guests truly appreciate the little details found throughout The Oxford, like the original wrought iron, tile floors, and wood-burning fireplace in the lobby.”

Each year, Travel + Leisure recognizes the top hotels, islands, cities, cruise lines, airlines and spas around the globe, according to the results of the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2023 readers’ survey. The full list will be featured in the August print issue of Travel + Leisure. Select highlights can be found at www.travelandleisure.com/worlds-best/worlds-best-2023.
