Stonebridge Cos., a Denver-based, privately owned, innovative hotel owner, operator and developer, has been recognized with a Hilton 2022 Americas Development Award for adaptive reuse for its downtown Denver property The Slate Denver, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

The Hilton Americas Development Awards recognize the achievements of owners, development partners and hotel teams in the Americas across several categories. These annual awards celebrate the resiliency and commitment of Hilton’s owners and team members who spread the light and warmth of hospitality.

“It’s an honor to accept this award on behalf of the team,” said Navin Dimond, chief executive officer of Stonebridge. “Every day, we strive to provide outstanding customer service and create a memorable experience for our guests not only at The Slate Denver but also all our properties. This award is a testament to our belief in delivering unforgettable stays for every guest.”

Located at 1250 Welton St. in downtown Denver, The Slate Denver is an adaptive reuse of the building that housed the Emily Griffith Opportunity School between 1926 and 2015. The four-story, 251-room hotel features nods to its past, including a front desk situated behind a reproduction file-card cabinet and the Teachers’ Lounge Food + Drink restaurant, as well as upscale, modern rooms and nearly 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space.

“We are thrilled to have been recognized with a Hilton Americas Development Award,” added Kirby Kiner, general manager of The Slate Denver. “This award reinforces our commitment to provide guests at The Slate Denver an extraordinary experience at a truly one-of-a-kind property.”
