Denver, CO – Transwestern’s Denver office recently announced that it held its happy hour event on May 18 to round out its fundraising efforts for the firm’s national philanthropy partner, Make-A-Wish®. Approximately 100 people attended the event at the Pub on Pearl, where 60 percent of the proceeds went directly to Make-A-Wish to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. By the end of the night, the donation exceeded $15,000, surpassing the fundraising goal by more than $2,000.

Jennifer Jones, an administrative associate at Transwestern, shared her personal experience with Make-A-Wish, which granted a wish for her daughter, now 29 years old.

“Make-A-Wish gave something to my daughter that she will have for the rest of her life; an experience and memories that came at a time when sickness and doubt were daily reminders of our reality,” said Jones. “Not only did this organization positively affect my daughter’s life, but mine as well. We are so thankful for everything they provided for our family.”

Additionally, Transwestern Managing Director Brad Cohen and his band, The Slipshods, volunteered their musical talents and entertained the group with renditions of famous rock songs.

Transwestern partnered with Make-A-Wish on a national level to raise the funds necessary to grant more and better wishes. The happy hour at Pub on Pearl was the last fundraising event in a series during May that included “Breakfast for a Cause” and “Yoga for a Cause” to help reach the donation goal. Transwestern also received support for these events from local Make-A-Wish® Colorado representatives Lauren Beede and Stacie Winslow.
