The Downtown Denver Partnership has shared that ski industry leader Alterra Mountain Company will maintain its headquarters in Colorado, relocating its office to 101 West Colfax Avenue, the former Denver Post Building, in the heart of Upper Downtown.
Alterra has called Denver home since the company’s founding in 2018, and its connection to Colorado runs deep through its headquarters, employees and mountain destinations across the state. The company’s decision to grow its corporate headquarters in downtown Denver is a significant win for both the city and the state, and a strong example of what can be achieved when the city, state, and economic development partners work together to retain high-quality employers and jobs.
“Alterra has called Denver home since its inception, and we’re thrilled the company has chosen to continue growing its headquarters here and make Downtown its next home,” said Kourtny Garrett, president & CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership. “Alterra’s move brings new energy to an important building at the end of 16th Street at a time when downtown continues to build momentum. The former Denver Post Building occupies a highly visible location at the gateway to the 16th Street corridor. Bringing a major employer and its workforce into the building creates new daily activity and gives an important downtown property a renewed purpose, bringing investment and activation that build on the momentum already underway across 16th Street and throughout downtown.
