Swire Coca-Cola, Colorado’s largest Coca-Cola bottler serving most of Colorado plans to build a 570,000-square-foot bottling facility near DIA, the company confirmed to Mile High CRE. The plastic and aluminum bottling facility could cost as much as $350-$500 million and will be built at DIA’s Second Creek Campus commercial district at the northeast corner of Tower Road and Peña Boulevard

Denver City Council approved a $270.7 million, 75-year ground lease agreement with Swire Infrastructure Inc. in April 2023. The new facility will replace both Coca-Cola’s production center at 3825 York St. and its sales center at 2145 E. 40th Ave. Swire Coca-Cola USA serves 13 states, including most of Colorado. In the Centennial State, it operates eight facilities with 1,250 employees.

Allison Barrett, director of public relations and government affairs for Swire Coca-Cola’s Central Region, told Mile High CRE: “Swire Coca-Cola USA proudly delivers refreshment to the communities we call home, which includes most of Colorado. As part of our long-term planning and growth goals, we are planning to develop property near Denver International Airport for potential business use. We are proud to be a part of the community in Colorado and while no final decisions have been made, we plan to keep the community informed about potential future development of the site.”

Swire will hold quarterly community engagement meetings. The Q3 community meeting will be held on September 25, 2024, 6-7 p.m. Construction at the Swire Coca-Cola facility is expected to begin in early 2025.

PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) broke ground on its new 1.2 million-square-foot manufacturing facility in the Denver High Point development area in 2022. That facility is expected to be complete in 2025.
