Denver, CO – American Institute of Architects (AIA), Colorado announced the 2016 AIA Colorado Honor Award winners during the 2016 AIA Colorado & Local Design Awards Gala in Copper Mountain, Colo. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. The AIA Colorado Honor Awards recognize firms and individuals who are setting examples in both design and leadership in our state.
“The Honor Awards are a representation of the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and expertise in our industry. Each of this year’s winners is not only dedicated to achieving quality design of the built environment, but to elevating the profession of architecture for generations to come,” said Cathy Rosset, Executive Vice President/CEO of AIA Colorado.
Congratulations to the 2016 AIA Colorado Honor Awards Winners:
- Leadership Award – Korey White, AIA, with RNL Design in Denver, Colo.
- Innovative Practices Award – Colorado Building Workshop, University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning in Denver, Colo.
- Young Architect of the Year – Ben Blanchard, AIA, with Anderson Mason Dale in Denver, Colo.
- Twenty-Five Year Award – Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass/Aspen, Colo.
The 2016 AIA Colorado Honor Awards Jury was comprised of three individuals representing the north, south and central areas of the state: Gregory M. Friesen, FAIA of CSNA Architects in Colorado Springs, Colo. (2016 Jury Chair), Katheryn L. Zeeb, AIA, A4LE of Boulder Valley School District, and Maria Cole, AIA of gkkworks in Denver, Colorado.
