Community leaders and VIPs gathered on June 26 in Keystone’s River Run Village to commemorate the final topping out, an important milestone in the construction of Kindred Resort where everyone signed the last beam of the project before it was placed atop the East Tower, signifying the completion of the exterior structure.
The Kindred team broke ground in the fall of 2022 and is on track to open next summer as the most luxurious new slopeside property in the Colorado Rockies, featuring a 107-room hotel, 95 luxury residences, a private club, along with retail, meeting & event space, three restaurants, and high-end amenities not found elsewhere in Summit County.
“Kindred is setting a new standard,” says Scott Russell, managing partner of Kindred’s development team. “We’re building the first 4.5-star property in the area, and building the excitement and energy for the new Town of Keystone, as we construct the base area development for Keystone’s River Run Village.”
According to Russell, Kindred will be the first ski-in hotel at Keystone, the only luxury private club in Summit County, and, what he feels, is the best opportunity to purchase ski-front real estate in the ski industry right now. More than 77% of the residences are under contract, which points to the strength of this project, Russell adds.
Kindred Resort will offer high-end amenities and services on par with those in Vail, Deer Valley and Aspen, including a private club, as well as valet parking, ski valet service, a spa, an outdoor pool and hot tubs, plus a Kids Club. The retail space will include multiple restaurant concepts, as well as serve as the new home for Keystone’s Ski and Ride School and a Keystone Sports rental shop. In addition, the resort will have a meeting and event space with spectacular mountain views perfect for weddings, conferences and group business events.
“Kindred is a special project,” says Shevy Rashidi, partner in the Kindred development team. “Kindred is being built in the best location, just 50 steps from the River Run Gondola at a world-class year-round resort. Keystone is consistently rated as the best family-friendly ski resort in the country, and it’s only getting better and brighter as we all work together to elevate the offerings and the service levels for our owners, club members, guests and our community.”
The Kindred Team is comprised of long-time, local Colorado and global developers and hospitality professionals. Together, the team has worked on projects throughout Colorado, including Aspen, Vail, Summit County and Denver, in addition to Mexico, Florida and beyond. The team is responsible for more than $4 billion in projects that include mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, multi-family and residential subdivisions, and is known for its bold entrepreneurial vision to create thriving and vibrant spaces full of life, technology, innovation and culture. That’s the vision for Kindred Resort.
The Kindred team is rounded out with their partners of PCL Construction, Vail Resorts and RockResorts, OZ Architecture and LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, along with Title Company of the Rockies.
