Canvas Credit Union has relocated its existing University branch into a thoughtfully restored historic building at 2345 E. Evans Ave. in Denver, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to serving members in the surrounding neighborhood while creating an enhanced banking experience just steps from its previous location. The new branch officially opens its doors today.
The approximately 2,225-square-foot branch combines contemporary banking services with architectural elements that honor the building’s history. Throughout construction, Canvas preserved original features, including exposed brick and a large structural timber beam, while thoughtfully reimagining the space to meet today’s accessibility, security, and technology standards.
Rogue Architecture designed the project, and Elder Construction served as the general contractor.
The project required a complete interior renovation, taking the building down to its structural framework before rebuilding the space to accommodate modern banking operations and a dedicated community room. Canvas occupies the main floor and the basement of the highly visible corner. By relocating a short distance from its existing branch, Canvas reaffirms its long-standing presence and dedication to the neighborhood.

Construction on the project began in December 2025. Throughout the renovation, Canvas worked to preserve pieces of the building’s history while adapting the space for its next chapter.
The relocated branch offers a full range of personal and business banking services while providing greater flexibility and visibility than the previous location. In addition to expanded member services, the University branch includes a community room designed to host educational programming, financial wellness events and neighborhood meetups.

Canvas officially opened the relocated branch on August 27.
